Each one of our educators at BCBA are Master Barbers who have gone through specific training on how to teach other barbers, and have years of barbering experience under their belt. They are all active barbers to-date with their own loyal clientele. 

Upon completing required clock hours, you will be ready to pass the state board examinations, both written and practical. Our curriculum is balanced in theory, as well as the actual state board practical procedure. Currently Licensed cosmetologists can get their barbering license in 300 hours instead of 1500.

You will leave equipped with all of the teachings that you will be tested on for your state board exams that lead to licensure, and will also be educated on traditional skills to step up your barbering game! 

• Tangibles - Technical barbering skills (straight razor shaving, haircuts, and beard shaping), written and practical exam preparation
• Intangibles - Customer service, marketing, branding, how to build a clientele, relationship building 

• • If you are unlicensed, it is 1,000 physical hours to obtain a Class A Barber’s License in the state of Texas. 
    • A part-time 25-hour schedule is appx. 10 months 
    • A weekend-only 20-hour schedule is appx. 13 months
  • If you hold an active cosmetologist license, it is 300 physical hours to obtain a Class A Barber’s License in the state of Texas 
    • A part-time 25-hour schedule is appx. 13 weeks
    • A weekend-only 20-hour schedule is appx. 16 weeks
• Timelines are all based on consistent attendance. Accelerated full-time schedules available upon request and approval.  

Yes! We take pride in helping our students understand the importance of maximizing their licenses and establishing themselves as professionals in both business and barbering. We go in-depth on an array of fundamental business practices.

Job placement opportunities are always readily accessible for talented professionals, and since 2015, we have had 95% of our graduates find job placement in the barbering field after graduation. We also are always happy to support and market our graduates and aim to mention them social channels, as well as refer any recent graduates to barber shops that we love and trust.
